[Trans - News] MYNAME, A Solo Korean Concert After Only 2 Single Albums?
MYNAME, who have released 2 single albums in Korea, will hold their first solo concert.
MYNAME will meet their fans on 2nd March at UNIQLO AX Hall, Kwangjang-dong, Kwangjin-gu, Seoul for their first solo concert ‘The Beginning’.
MYNAME made their debut in 2011, and released only 2 single albums which is little compared to other groups. This is because they signed on with Japan’s biggest and oldest entertainment company, Yoshimoto R&C, and started their promotions there early. But to repay their fans’ support, they will also have a solo concert in Korea.
MYNAME had their solo concert in Tokyo and Osaka last December and captured the heart of Japan, increasing anticipation for their first Korean concert.
MYNAME will perform their debut song ‘Message’ and ‘Hello & Goodbye’, as well as the title song of their 2nd single album to be released on the 25th ‘Just That Little Thing’ and ‘Astonished’. They also plan to perform a Korean version of their Japanese song which the members wrote the lyrics to.
Concert producer Show Note said, “MYNAME, who have experience with their Zepp Tour in Japan, promise to show a more developed image and are practicing hard. It will be a concert of both sweet boys and manly charisma.”
Ticket sales for MYNAME’s first solo concert ‘The Beginning’ will start on the 29th. MYNAME will release their new album and make a comeback on the 25th.

[Trans - Interview] MYNAME are recharged with 200% confidence “We want to show you quickly”

MYNAME showed a performance-based song and an energetic concept in their debut song ‘Message’, and are planning to showcase both strong vocals and an understated choreography with their new title track ‘Hello & Goodbye’. “Actually, this song came out together with ‘Message’ but we saved it and now’s the time to show it. So, this is a very different song to us. There were many who wondered if we were coming back with a medium-tempo song. We think that the winning point of this song is that it is not limited to any age group, and everyone can enjoy it.” (Chaejin)
MYNAME focused on showing off their choreography in the music video for ‘Message’, but in the music video for ‘Hello & Goodbye’, they added drama scenes and intensified the mood of the song. Gunwoo attempted acting for the first time in this music video and partnered with Son Eunseo.
“There was a scene where we danced together but I was very shy and Son Eunseo was just dancing. I didn’t know what to do so I was very embarrassed. Even in the scene where our love started, we had to hold hands and act, but I was shy so it was hard.” (Gunwoo)
Gunwoo said that he was shy and it was hard to act but the members were thankful to him.
“It’s true that Gunwoo made a lot of mistakes because it’s his first time, but we are very thankful towards him. The day before, we spent 24 hours filming the dance scenes and we went back to our dorm to sleep, but Gunwoo couldn’t sleep for 48 hours and immediately filmed the drama scenes. We went to see him around evening time and he almost became a zombie. Haha” (Insoo)
“Firstly, we’re very thankful to him because he did well even though it was his first time. There were also a lot of action scenes and a lot of difficult parts but he endured everything and we’re very grateful. But because of Gunwoo hyung’s acting, it was hard for us. Because it’s his first action scene, he practiced it against us. During dance practice he would suddenly do a spinning side kick and whenever he opens the door, he would start shooting guns. But he is actually very serious when shooting guns so we can’t possibly not pretend to die for him…haha” (Seyong)
Also, during the dance scenes in the music video, the members could have gotten hurt because of an accident.
“We were filming the dance scenes and the lights fell not once or twice, but 4 times and exploded. It was so dangerous that the director said he has never experienced it before. Luckily, nobody got hurt but it was scary at first and we couldn’t concentrate. Haha. We thought that it’s ‘a sign of a great hit’ and felt better.” (Insoo)
MYNAME, who made news for signing with the biggest Japanese entertainment agency Yoshimoto Kogyo, will make their official debut in Japan at the end of July after this album’s promotions with the Japanese version of ‘Message’.
“Honestly, there were parts we couldn’t really feel before we approached it so I think we still can’t believe it. But even while we were focused on preparing for this comeback, we’re also working hard to prepare for our debut. Of course we’re taking the most important Japanese language lessons, but we’re also practicing our debut song and are working hard to show you a perfect image.” (JunQ)

We asked them “Do you take care of yourselves?” and MYNAME explained “Actually, we are now slimmer than what’s stated on our profiles. We did not follow a diet and even though we eat well, our practice sessions are so intense that we lose weight. We lost on average 3kg each while preparing for this album.”
JunQ, who especially has a sharper jawline compared to the past, answered, “When I gain weight, it shows on my face, so I suffered a lot emotionally. So I worked hard to stop myself from having late-night snacks. Since we also had choreography practices till dawn, we lost some weight. I’m currently 56kg.”
