[Trans - News] MYNAME charts at #5 on Japan’s Oricon Daily charts… Will they catch up with Girls’ Generation?

[Asia Daily Lee Geumjun reporter] Group MYNAME made it on the Oricon Daily charts at number 5 with their 2nd Japanese single.
MYNAME’s 2nd Japanese single ‘What’s Up’ made it to number 5 on the Oricon Daily chart on the 21st, selling 12,948 albums.
In the top 5 positions, Girls’ Generation and MYNAME were the only foreign artistes to chart. MYNAME attracted more attention for achieving that rank despite being a rookie.
A representative from their agency H2Media said, “The members are all happy that they achieved meaningful results in Japan. They are preparing for their first Japanese Zepp tour in December. With the aim of having a Korean comeback after wrapping up their Japanese activities, they are preparing for their new album.”
Meanwhile, MYNAME will hold their first solo Zepp tour on December 15th and 17th in Osaka and Tokyo, and they plan to meet their fans.

[Trans - News] MYNAME invited to Japan’s Girls Award with AKB48

MYNAME will be on the same stage as AKB48 on the 8th at Tokyo’s Yoyogi Gymnasium for the Girls Award 2012.
The Girls Award is Japan’s largest fashion and music event which started in 2009, and is also the biggest event featuring Japan’s active Girl Groups and popular stars.
On the homepage of this event (girls-award.com), it was revealed that MYNAME will one of the live performers besides Japan’s famous top artists like girl group AKB48, THE SECOND from EXILE and Nogizaka46.
The Korean singers to have been present at the Girls Awards since it started were JYJ’s Kim Junsu in 2009, Girls’ Generation and 4Minute in 2010 and Big Bang’s Taeyang and 2NE1 in 2011.
Meanwhile, MYNAME’s first Japanese single last July debuted at number 9 on the Oricon daily charts and made it to number 7 in the weekly charts, earning them a good reaction from the public. They will release their 2nd Japanese single on November 21st and are now planning their promotional activities.
